About Us
BHAM’s purpose is to represent private behavioral health providers, including substance use and mental health entities, across Mississippi, to advocate for legislative and policy reforms benefitting behavioral health providers and patients, promote collaboration and professional development among providers in the private sector, ensure providers are represented in shaping behavioral health regulations and funding priorities, and to address workforce development, access to care, and reimbursement challenges.
BHAM is led by Angela Gaddis, PhD LCSW, has over 30 years of experience in social work practice, administration and education. She has primarily practiced in Mississippi in mental health settings. She has also served as President of social work boards at the state and national level. She has a passion for influencing macro systems that have an impact on the care of individuals, families, and communities.
